I have emails from Karen (who directed our short film “Buon Giorno Sayonara” ) She’s jetting her way round the US from festival to festival.
She tells me that the screenings were a sell-out and BGS got a great response from audience and fellow filmmakers. The film has been accepted into two more festivals: Broad Humour in LA (29th Sep – 2nd Oct): http://broadhumor.com/ and FirstGlance (Spring 2012), a prestigious online film festival offering prize money (unusual for short film festivals) and the chance to be screened at two ‘physical’ festivals in Las Vegas and Philadelphia later in 2012. Also we’ve just received our very first award. This was ‘Best Comedy Film’ from Hyart Film Festival in Wyoming. Exciting!
…and a few weeks later..
Karen says that BGS got a great response at Broad Humour Film Festival. We narrowly missed winning the audience award for best short – by three votes! – which was a great achievement as most of the filmmakers were local and brought their own voters with them!
The next screening is at Poppy Jasper Film Festival and we’ve just been accepted into festivals number 18 and 19.
The first is Tallgrass in Kansas, which takes place from 20th – 23rd October. (http://www.tallgrassfilmfest.com) This will be our biggest festival to date with over 45 features screening in addition to the short film programme.
Festival number 19 is in New York, 19 – 20 November (http://www.giaafilmfest.com/GIAA_Film_Fest/GIAA_Fest_2011.html )
