I’ve bought a couple of these 160 led battery lights. They’re good, though the mounting is a bit flimsy, they have a continuous dimming control and they can be powered by a range of Sony, Panasonic or AA cells.
Battery life is good. One had to have its rechargeable cells replaced after about 10 hours of filming, so that’s not bad. However the light is a bit uncontrollable, so I’ve added barn doors.
First I put Velcro round the lamp
Then I cut out the barn doors form some DVD cases. Plastic is of course OK as there is no heat from the lamps.
I used the hinges on the DVD cases to form the hinges on the barn doors
Then added various bit of velcro to hold the barn doors in position and allow it to fold flat
It’s not terribly elegant, but works well.
