Jeanne Socrates the oldest woman round the world sailor

Posted by Phil On September - 21 - 2011

Mike and I were filming at Southampton Boat Show, when we met up with Jeanne Socrates. An amazing woman,  Jeanne Socrates (68) has become the oldest woman ever to complete a solo non-stop circumnavigation, after ‘closing the circle’ near Cape town in her Najad 380 Nereida on earlier this year.

Five years ago she completed a previous round-the-world sail, but this was the first non stop.

I asked her what’s she’s going to do next and she told me …do it again.

We were filming  Really nice people. But it was quite tricky on camera as the stand was half in very bright sunlight and half in deep shadow, so I had to keep switching  ND filters in and out.

Live location multicam internet streaming success

Posted by Phil On September - 12 - 2011

The multicam at Ishtar restaurant for the Musicality website went well. For me the highlight was when the manageress interrupted Jesse Conrad’s performance to say hello to her mother, who was watching in Turkey.

It was all bit cramped and very hot. By the time we packed all the kit away and got back home to Southampton it was 3am.

After 4 hours sleep it was up at 7 to get to Bournemouth for a full days editing on the the Kids in Care film with Lisa. Luckily we argued (debated) a lot, so I didn’t fall asleep over the laptop. Would have been embarrassing that. 🙂

Filming tonight at 60 Million Postcards in Bournemouth

Posted by Phil On September - 3 - 2011

I’m filming Momo:tempo’s Electro Pops Orchestra tonight at 60 Million Postcards …and early tomorrow as part of  Musicosity Music Festival and Bournemouth’s Arts By The Sea Festival

Timo Peach is a great character so it should be fun …but it doesn’t start till 11pm, so I hope I’m still sharp and lively. I’m filming with 2 cameras simultnaeously, so is quite tricky…  need to concentrate.

Here’s some previous filming with Momo ..or Timo Peach
